WHY STAY ON LIDO (WHAT TO DO IN LIDO)?

B&B Casa Delle Rose

Via Smirne, 11

30126 Lido VE, Italy

LIDO is a thin strip of land, together with the island of Pellestrina and Chioggia encloses the lagoon of Venice and defends it from the sea.

Golden beaches never too crowded and however large, shallow sea is also suitable for little children or swimmers, the LIDO is rooted in decades of the Belle Epoque. After the birth of the first seaside resort, the island became the town of noble holiday and royalty from all over Europe, actors and actresses, magnates of industry and finance world, fueling a myth that still it gives it a unique atmosphere.

A fascinating past that has left a legacy to the island a vocation for tourism with a confidential and elegant and which manifests itself through beautiful villas and Art Nouveau villas.

The Lido also reserves other surprises like the ancient monastery of St. Nicolò, the historical and monumental heart of the island and the village of Malomocco, a small Venice with streets, squares, and houses leaning against each other. Do not miss the wonder of landscapes including the protected oasis of WWF dune Alberoni – with its wealth of animal and plant species – and of course the Lagoon with its picturesque scenery.

The summer holiday at Lido also means sports and entertainment, with facilities dedicated to a number of disciplines including the renowned golf course at Alberoni, one of the most beautiful and oldest in Italy.
Every year the Lido hosts the International Festival of art Venice Film Festival, one of the most famous and historic in the world. All this just 15 minutes by waterbus from Piazza San Marco, “the world’s most beautiful living room” as it is often called, and the uniqueness of Venice but from there far enough to preserve the quitnessand relaxed atmosphere.
